Like what you see, see what you like? The above portrait of half-naked Sporty Spice’s comes complimentary of DJ Reflex with his new single Body So Tight. Featuring the dynamic delivery of Childish Gambino, the hip-hop/trap hybrid will live on the Roc Nation DJ’s upcoming and currently untitled EP.

Reflex has been one of the most influential artists in the L.A. music scene for nearly a decade now. As a tastemaker DJ and producer he’s been associated with launching the careers of big names like Kanye West, Lady Gagaa, and John Legend. Reflex has continued to spread he talents by working with heavyweights such as Foster The People, Enrique Iglesias, J. Cole, and several others. Body So Tight featuring another prolific name in Gambino has added to that arsenal of diversity.

The high-energy track is a perfect storm between the beat laboratory skills of Reflex and the originality of Gambino, no doubt a summer party anthem guaranteed to have shirtless women headbanging on your tables double-fisting solo cups. Gambino is no stranger to electronic collabos and throws down a flow similar to his appearance on Flux Pavillion’s Do or Die. The renaissance entertainment artist picks up his pace in coordination to the rise in Relfex’ beat, bouncing from word to word with witty rhymes.

“I heard in Miami they’re making it nasty/Send me a pic, Gambino Aveeno that ashy to classy”

While Reflex remains busy promoting his summer album, Gambino’s schedule is filled with upcoming appearances in various festivals. His music career catalog has grown significantly over the past few years with his solo albums Culdesac and Camp. He has consistently remained in the hip-hop headlines with singles and guest verses, most recently spitting bars on tracks for Funk Flex’s tape Who You Mad At? Me Or Yourself? Add his verse from Favorite Song on Chance The Rapper’s highly acclaimed Acid Rap tape and you have a strong set of songs surely to set up Gambino for a hot summer.

Stay tuned for more on Reflex’ summer EP, after the release Body So Tight a name and date are surely on the way. You can catch Gambino at the Canada’s Squamish Valley Music Festival August 8th-10. Get Your Earz Wet!

May I have this Stolen Dance? “Wait, if the dance is stolen, how can you have it?” the tall man said, with an ever so slight grin. Tap tap tap, goes the symbol, strum strum strum goes the acoustic guitar; this song starts out sounding super full on folk. The young 20 year old from Kassel came to the fore surprisingly when he released his first stand-alone song in June 2012.

That’s right, almost a year ago, and he’s now topping the bloggisphere. His genre is argued to be pop? I’d call it more of a modern folk pop, if there is such a thing. I’m definitely getting some Jack Johnson vibes here as far as feel good, and passionate music goes. Can we settle on contemporary? Fair enough. Contemporary it is…

Milky Chance gives you “the chance” to turn off the engine and just let go of the steering wheel, crashing into a land of sweet tunes. It will take over your mind and body, and initiate the feeling of satisfaction in a day filled with turmoil and sadness. Lastly, but not “leastly”, Milky Chance’s debut album “Sadnecessary” will be unveiled in the coming days of May.

The album will feature eleven unique songs just like Stolen Dance. The album is slated to be released May 31st in Kassel, and June 1st for the remainder of civilization as we know it. Sadnecessary is being released by Lichtdicht Records, a young label from Kassel. Now onto my biased opinion of this fellow and the tunes he plays…LOVE the name, if I would have thought to put “milky” in front of my name I would have done it years ago, but now that’s it’s been done it’s too late. Oh well. Snag this FREE LISTEN of Stolen Dance, and Get Your Ears Wet!

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was a Saturday in May. I had just finished finals week of my junior year in college, so naturally I was running off a combined 20 hours of sleep for the past 7 days. An accumulation of Adderall was flowing through my veins as I sat slouched in a chair of a grad party living room. Red solo cup in my right hand and left over pulled pork sandwich in my left, my eyes we’re inevitably beginning to close regardless of amphetamines and alcohol. Suddenly, I heard a voice come from the television. “Ladies and gentlemen here he is the man you came to see, Kanye West!”. It was Ben Affleck on SNL. My eyes opened, a boner arose from my trousers, and my blood pressure brought resurrection within like Squints as he woke up to kiss Wendy Peffercorn. This…this was magic.

Last Saturday Kanye appeared as the musical guest on SNL and performed two new tracks from his upcoming album Yeezus. The first was Black Skinhead and the second New Slaves, both possessing incredible instrumentals holding innovative genere-collaborative meshes.

First: Black Skinhead. This was the more surprising of the two performances in terms of unheard forms from the instrumental bible of Yeezus Christ himself. Rock meets rap in a perfect collision of this explosive track. Kanye samples the drums from Marilyn Manson’s The Beautiful People as well as Gary Glitter’s classic NFL stadium anthem Rock and Roll. The lyricism is full of a “fuck ALL y’all” relentless attitude, initiated by his screams in the beginning and echoed throughout by his continuous flow. Themes of prosecution by media and society and Kanye’s refusal to give in are buried within brilliant metaphors and comparisons of historical/famous figures. Malcom X, King Kong, Lebron, even Hitler-all present.

Second: New Slaves. Complimented by Kanye’s rebellious lash outs against his critics and specific societal trends, the beat sounds like something out of a horror film. Following the chaotic short intro, one simple sound carries itself through the first verse. It’s pace is picked up in coordination with Kanye’s flow until it meets the support of cathedral-like vocals we’ve heard in his work the last couple years, i.e. H.A.M. Deep synths add to the bone chilling smash of sounds within the rest of the song, creeping along as they wrap around every line Yeezy spits full of anger and self-appraisal. Although it may seem ironic that Kanye is deeply involved with high fashion but lashes out against industry corporations, the message here appears to be a theme of the black community taking on a new form of slavery: that of their lust for materialism.

“All you blacks want all the same things/Used to only be niggas now everybody playing/Spending everything on Alexander Wang/New Slaves”

Conclusion: the tracklist we hear on June 18th is going to be everything we’ve been anticipating from Kanye’s sixth solo album. High energy, increased darkness, innovative instrumental morphs from multiple generes, A-list features (Daft Punk, Skrillex, Young Chop, Travi$ Scott, Pusha T)-Yeezus will be blowing speakers all summer.

Strap in ladies and gentlemen, our skulls are about to be blasted to pieces. Check out the performances and Yeezus Christ, Get Those Earz Wet!

Well, if you’re not Doin’ It right, then you are clearly doing it wrong. I’m sure most of you are familiar with the band Daft Punk…and their newest album Random Access Memories. R>A>M, for short, has made quite the splash in the EDM world with instant classics like album titled song, Random Access Memories, and of course Let’s Get Lucky featuring hip hop artist/producer Pharrell Williams.

This is a remix of one of the other instant classics on the album, Doin’ It Right is the name of the track, and it’s a great pace keeper, not to mention the classic Daft Punk electronic voice. This track we have here, is a remix of the track Doin’ It Right featuring Panda Bear. This is The Golden Pony Remix of the Daft Punk song, and they are indeed Doin’ It Right. The Golden Ponys have afros people, and they are serious about making discos.

That’s really all I can tell you about The Golden Pony. Besides that they’re from Brooklyn. Nice to see the Mets are off to a good start, and also it was nice NBA playoff run for the Nets. Maybe your city franchises suck, because they’re names fuggin rhyme. Gimme some Brooklyn Beavers and Brooklyn Cleavers if they’re going to fuggin rhyme.

Fantastic Remix by The Golden Pony either way…and this track by Daft Punk will remain to many their favorite. There just so happens to be zero FREE DOWNLOADS available, but I’d made you look. Oh, and Panda Bear…good job to you too Panda Bear. You’re “doing it right” too, being all extinct and shib…eating bamboo and just shibbin everydamnwhere. JK. Really though, Panda Bear is an “experimental musicisian” who paints a fuggin spot on his face to resemble a real Panda Bear. So, in essance, you’re shitting on real Panda Bears, Panda Bear. Get Your Ears Wet to this Remix of Doin’ It Right, by The Golden Pony, originally scored by Daft Punk.

If you can manage a spare second away from Daft Punk today, I highly recommend giving IS TROPICAL‘s latest release I’m Leaving and especially the airy track “Sun Sun“.

The track is a frolicy, breezy tune that will delight the ears of fans of lighthearted indie-rock. Lead singer Simon Milner‘s raspy, sage vocals are reminiscent of Spoon lead singer Britt Daniel’s. In fact, this whole song sounds like it’s from the same recipe book of Spoon’s classic “The Underdog”. “Sun Sun” has a bit more of a hippy-vibe to it. At a little past halftime, the track bursts out into an ode to the sun, sung by a chorus of flower children.

This jam is the least indie-tronic on an album that is already less electronically influenced than its predecessor Native To. I am always a huge proponent of bands expanding their sound outside of their comfort zone and “Sun Sun” is a perfect example of why.

The IS TROPICAL trio is completed with Gary Barber, and Dominica Apa all out of London. You can go grab their new album I’m leaving (courtesy of French label Kitsune Records) over at their website. Check out “Sun Sun” below and stream the whole album below that.

If you are looking to get in on the ground floor of a band that’s going to be huge soon, look no further than LA based, Smallpools. The numbers don’t lie. Their only song thus far, “Dreaming”, has 86k+ plays on Soundcloud in five short days in existence. Normally I am not one to read into “topping hype.m” or someone who is “BLOWING up Souncloud” too much, but this is downright ridiculous. Listening to the track it is easy to understand this phenomena.

“Dreaming” is a sugary anthem that is sure to dominate every speaker this summer. This track is a GIGANTIC whirlwind of all things that are great about pop music. Soaring “oohs and aahs”, bright, punchy synths and an instantly memorable chorus make this a shining example of what pop in 2013 looks like. One could go insane trying to debate if they are a “dance-ier version of Passion Pit” or a “sunnier Foster the People” or whatever meaningless comparison that can be mustered up. But that would completely defeat the purpose of it all.

Some songs and artists are meant to be analyzed for some kind of deeper meaning or message. This is not one of those songs. “Dreaming” is best absorbed without a care in the world. To spend too much time thinking about this song would be like looking at the nutrition facts on the back of a bag of Sour Patch kids. I am just now realizing that by using this circular logic to come to this conclusion I have effectively ruined the song for myself, but there is still time for the rest of you. So quick, go DOWNLOAD this song below and throw it on at your next pool party or summertime drive because if you don’t, someone else will.

I challenge you to name a band that seems to have more fun than Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. The Detroit duo has a knack for crafting pop songs that are as genuine as they are catchy. Like any band worth their salt, DEJJ absolutely brings it in their live show. In a music world that tends to take itself a bit seriously, it is incredibly refreshing to see a band throw all expectations out the window and do whatever they damn well please. Whether they are rocking glow-in-the-dark suits, dancing in the crowd on just their second song, playing in front of a trippy 10 foot orb TV screen, using a telephone as a mic, or covering 90′s hip hop songs, DEJJ is always full of welcome surprises.

For those of you not quite familiar with Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., think of a combination of Vampire Weekend and Passion Pit, but on mushrooms (yeah, it’s that awesome). The focal point of the band is Joshua Epstein & Daniel Zott who share vocals, each play guitar, bass, keyboard and a slew of other electronic instruments. Between songs the two humorously riff off each other with Stockton and Malone type chemistry.

Last night at the El Rey they played a mixture of their classics from It’s a Corporate World including “Morning Thought“, “Skeletons“, “Simple Thought“, “Vocal Chords” and ended the show with a blown-out version of “Nothing But Our Love“. The real surprise of the night came in the form of their new material. Look out for this one, folks. “Hiding” is an absolute anthem live. “If You Didn’t See Me” had the entire dance floor groovin’. The duo played a few unreleased tracks that are sure to be huge hits whenever their new album comes out.

There was a genuine smile on everyone’s faces as they flooded out of the El Rey into the streets of Los Angeles. Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr‘s lighthearted charisma had stolen the night. Technically, it wasn’t a perfectly played show. A few guitars got unplugged in the chaos, a few cues were missed, but none of that mattered. It was just another facet of their charm. DEJJ put on a show in every sense of the word, not just playing studio cuts of their previous material, but entertaining . “You should know by now/We’re just gonna keep on moving on/We’re just keep on/on the dancefloor” the duo unapologetically sings. Sounds about right.

Check out Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.‘s new video for “Dark Water” from their latest Patterns EP as well as a live video of them performing “War Zone” yesterday on KCRW . If you are in San Francisco, the circus is heading your way as I write this. Go check them out at The Independent tonight. They will be in Chicago next Friday as well for all you good Windy City citizens. Go out and support live music, you won’t regret it.

Well The Weeknd dropped another baby making ballad last night, and it’s called Kiss Land. Much like CandyLand, you’ll find yourself licking a lot of things that are questionably edible. The track was produced by Silkky Johnson, and marks the third or fourth new release from The Weeknd in 2013. In 2012, The Weeknd made sure everyone knew he was here to lay down them “get fugged” beats, and 2013 has steadily become no different.

Kiss Land, is one of two new releases from The Weeknd this week, the other is John Carpenter, which has far less to do with “pussy poppin” and centers more on the personal life of the rapper. Kiss Land falls in line with most of The Weeknd’s other song messages, exploiting sexual experiences, and multiple hip thrusts. Kiss Land is also nearly eight minutes long, so strap in, and put a rain coat on.

Kiss Land is also the name of The Weeknd’s fourth upcoming album, breaching a familiar subject of sexual expression and apetite. “Cause the only thing you’re taking, is your clothes off/ Go ‘head girl strip it down, shut your mouth, I just wanna hear your body talk”. If I could say that shit, without getting slapped upside my head I totally would, but for some reason The Weeknd says it better and pulls it off.

The other track released this week, John Carpenter, which will also be featured on his upcoming album later this year, tells more of the shy singer’s life and experiences outside of the bedroom. As for the rest of the album, you can be sure it will be packed full of sexual expletives to last a lifetime. There is a FREE DOWNLOAD of this track Kiss Land, and be sure to check out the full album once it drops later this year. We will have full coverage of the album when it drops, so you don’t want to miss out. Get Your Ears Wet!

Check out this newest remix from MS MR, of the MØ single called Pilgrim. The Eargazm was fortunate enough to see this bad bitch in concert, and boy howdy did she have my skin tingling. MØ, Karen Marie Ørsted, is a danish singer songwriter. “Pilgrim” her first official single has charted in the Tracklisten, the Danish Singles Chart, and she is signed to Sony Music. This is official video for the remix of Pilgrim.

MØ, whose name means roughly “unmarried girl” or “virgin” in Danish, has been compared to electro-pop vocalists such as Grimes, Purity Ring, and Twin Shadow. We were lucky when we saw MØ, she was opening up for the Swedish sensation CHVRCHES at The Echo theatre in LA, and the house was packed. The crowd, who assumably had come to see CHVRCHES, showed MØ serious love and gave her an amazing applause of energy when she gave one hell of a performance to start the night off. This remix of Pilgrim will have you soiling yourself.

MØ‘s style is an interesting one to say the least, she has a very eclectic array of influences, and her theatrics while performing makes her show and talent endearing to watch. I really wish I could say she was still in the states, but that is isn’t the case. She is in Brighton this Friday & Saturday, and then in Amsterdam on Sunday, so if you’re in the area….Thus far there aren’t anymore confirmed tour dates in the states for 2013, but be sure to keep those ears and eyes peeled for more of this genius. Pilgrim I say.

Also, if you have a second, check out her videos for her tracks. Trippy stuff yo. MØ recently signed with Chess Club Records/RCA Victor, who will be releasing “Waste Of Time” on July 7, a new single by MØ. There is also a video available for Waste Of Time, so be sure to check that little Diddy out. Get Your Ears Wet!

In this post apocalyptic music world we live in, where anyone can make music and get noticed, there are bound to be some terrible efforts. But on the flip side of that is MØ. The Danish singer/songwriter. 20 years ago, I doubt there is anyway that we would be fortunate enough to hear her “Electronic Soul, Street-vibe Indie Pop” tunes. Anyone saying that the internet and technology is ruining music just isn’t looking in the right places. It’s about time the cream rises to the top and the emergence of MØ may just be sign that there is hope yet for the internet artist.

It is a tall order to describe MØ‘s brand of music. Like Lana del Rey’s punkier, cooler sister, she lays down catchy-as-all-hell pop hooks over bumpin’ hip hop beats with elements of anthem rock that propel the track to the moon. “Waste of Time” is the latest in MØ‘s small collection of releases, which includes the groovy “Pilgrim“, and the dreamy “Glass“. One thing is certain, she is unique. Not many artists could cite Sonic Youth, Major Lazer, and Lykke Li as their influences and live up to it but this list actually makes sense for MØ.

Expect to hear more from her in the near future. She is currently touring through Europe this May. Cannot wait to see where she goes from there. Check out the video for her latest cut “Waste of Time” below as well her lethal track “Pilgrim” below.
