Christine and the Queens makes electro-pop music with the kind of subdued, effortless cool that one would expect given her French upbringing. There’s a warmth in her groove that feels equal parts uplifting and melancholy, creating undeniably beautiful music.

Héloïse Letissier (the birth certificate name of Christine and the Queens) cites her inspirations as the theatrical pop of a David Bowie or Laurie Anderson, the drag queens that performed with her early in her musical career and the choreography of Michael Jackson.

Check out two highlights from her recent self titled debut album below.
