Knicks Remix

The carefully crafted Freddie Gibbs and Madlib masterpiece, Pinata, was released last March and still has hip-hop heads drooling. The collaborative project was recorded and mixed over two years, includes top talent features, and was preceded with three EPs. Needless to say, folks lost it upon it’s arrival. Now, seven months later, Freddie and Madlib feed fans with some leftovers by serving Pinata’s post-release EP, Knicks Remix.

The project’s official release isn’t until November 18th-but, in an internet infested with pirates and track leakin’ krakens, we’ve received a premature taste. The title song, Knicks Remix, features Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$ and Ransom, a collaboration anything short of east coast madness. Freddie opens to set the tone, Bronsolino cracks jokes, Ransom rhymes of hustlin’ and Joey…well, does Joey. Of course, the underlying wit is the play on words of the song’s title from Freddie’s chorus referencing his come up of selling nickel bags aka “nicks” aka five dollar weed transitions. Freddie, you sly bastard.

The rest of Knicks Remix includes Home featuring BJ The Chicago Kid, instrumentals of both tracks, and two bonus beats. Stream both songs and checkout the tracklist below.

1. Knicks Remix f/ Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, Ransom
2. Knicks Remix Instrumental
3. The Dunk (Bonus Beat)
4. Home f/ BJ the Chicago Kid
5. Home Instrumental
6. The Garden (Bonus Beat)
