Motopony

Motopony was birthed out a downtown loft in Tacoma, WA that was a shared space for musicians and local artists. Lead man Daniel Blue began making soft folky songs, touring local venues and clubs as a one man act. True to their communal roots, new members were added until the band formed the full six-piece eclectic arrangement it is today.

Their latest track “Get Down (Come Up)” begins with a Modest Mouse-esque sound with lyrics falling heavily on the backbeats.¬†After a pretty-forward start out of the gate, the track begins to melt away upon itself before exploding into a grand finale that is so cleverly put together it almost hurts.

“Get Down (Come Up)” is from the band’s new album ‘Idle Beauty’ out today actually. The band plays in LA next school night. Go check them out.
