The shittiness of Hangover Sunday’s has been elevated to another level. CHEIFS-you’re breaking my spirits. It’s enough that I have to deal with the KU football program’s ass whippings and disappointment, and now you go and do me like this? It’s in no way fun to be a KU student as a football fan right now. “THINGS ARE WORSE THAN EVER!” (see “Dark Knight” press conference scene). If you’re also in the land broken football promises today, I have some new Frank Ocean magic to cure the wounds. Frank hops on a track with Mellowhype titled Astro to deliver, as usual, a beautifully sung hook that’s dope as hell with some lines to chuckle over. It’s amazing what he does to tracks, it’s an effortless performance for Frank every time as he pours all he’s got onto beats that really wrap around his voice. With production from Mellowhype member Left Brain, Hodgy Beats paints the track red through murderous rhyming with a couple slick verses. Astro is the third song off the group’s album “Numbers”, which is available this Tuesday. Enjoy the swagger of this collabo and take a listen to “Numbers” this week.
