In honor of their show that I’m hitting up tomorrow night, I present to you Aer‘s freshest new single: Take it Wrong. And man, is it fresh.
The Boston duo once again delivers their signature mellow, beach-side sound over an easy-going beat and chill, strolling bass line. Combining elements of hip hop, reggae, indie, and a style similar to Slightly Stoopid and Sublime, Aer once again knocks it out of the park with this one. Actually, Aer would more likely be watching one get knocked out of the park while chilling on the roof of their house sipping on drinks and blowing smoke. Because that’s clearly more of their style.
Regardless, Aer is on a roll. After releasing their massively popular The Brightside Album (featuring hits such as Floats My Boat and Like The Way), Aer is now on tour with Hoodie Allen and about to come out with their new Strangers EP on March 19th.
Touring with Hoodie Allen is a good move for Aer by teaming up with a fellow up-and-coming artist to increase both of their popularity. And, as a fan of both artists, I was stoked to hear that I could see both of them at the same show. It’s really a win-win for everybody. The combination of the chillosity of Aer and the flow of Hoodie Allen, the show tomorrow at the Granada in Lawrence, KS should be a good one. Not to mention, it is a good friend of mine’s twenty-first birthday, which means we’ll be hitting the Lawrence bar scene for his first time. Needless to say, I’m pretty excited.
Until then, I’ll be bumpin’ my favorite Hoodie and Aer hits, especially the brand new: Take it Wrong.
