MP3: Big K.R.I.T. ft. Trinidad James – My Trunk

I’ve come to the realization that I’m not a “country boy” in the slightest. Living in Manhattan, KS, I’m surrounded by them, but I’m way too “city”. Exactly the reason why my presence at our country-themed party tonight will be based much more around alcohol consumption and the ladies than trying to look/act country at all. Exhibit A as to why I’m not very rural: my pregame is currently consisting of bumping some DOPE new Big K.R.I.T. and writing about it, and not “drankin’ beers, puttin’ a dip in, and listenin’ to cuntry.” Give me a break.

I digress.

Big K.R.I.T.’s song My Trunk is pretty bomb. Crank the bass and feel the rattle coming from K.R.I.T.’s trunk, which has been known to “pussy pop”. Trinidad James goes in on the hook for My Trunk, laying down solid lines that stick in your head all day. Not much more intelligent than “Gold all in my chain, gold all in my rang,” but entertaining nonetheless. This track is one of the samples from K.R.I.T.’s newest mixtape King Remembered in Time that I would register as more of a banger.

The great thing about his newest release is that bangers are intermixed with more chill rap that you can sit back and enjoy. Bump it or chill to it, King Remembered in Time has got what you need. With K.R.I.T.’s recognizable flow and the inclusion of instruments rarely found in tracks these days (guitar, horns, etc), I love this album from top to bottom.

K.R.I.T. is an artist that deserves much more attention than he currently gets. I first learned about Big K.R.I.T. on A$AP Rocky’s 1Train (where he has a killer verse), so checking out King Remembered in Time was a no-brainer. Cop the FREE DOWNLOAD of King Remembered in Time and Get Your Earz Wet!
