I’d like to introduce you to a good friend of mine named Brian Lockwood. He is originally from Chicago and is currently based out of the best college town in the world, Lawrence, Kansas. Some people make music with only fame in mind, while others make music, because that’s what they were put on earth to do. He has absolutely been killing it in the midwest recently and just put out this acoustic mash-up called Changes. After one listen, I knew I had to share it. He samples the likes of Tupac, Michael Jackson and Macklemore and creates something truly unique. I tend to dislike mash-ups, seeing as most that bounce about the blogosphere are just two songs playing simultaneously, put together by some talentless kid with garage band, but this time that’s simply not the case. Lockwood and producer Gunter Jones bring light to a diluted genre with this score. This may be the first you’ve heard of Brian Lockwood, but I guarantee it’s not the last.
