Started From The Bottom Remix

“All black coup, I look like Bruce when I’m steerin”-any rapper that makes a Batman aka Dark Knight aka Big Dick Player Bruce Wayne reference is a friend of mine. It didn’t take Wiz Khalifa long to hop into the studio and record a verse for Drake’s first single released in nearly a year. The Taylor Gang Captain added a verse full of rapid flows and boastful bars to Drizzy’s Started From The Bottom. I’ve criticized Wiz in the past for being repetitive with his subject matter, but there’s a glimpse of freshness within this verse. Young Khalifa had this to say about his spin on the Mike Zombie produced track: “I know that song juss came out lol but i think it speaks to all of us so i put my verse on it before everyone else do”. I’d say Wiz accomplished his goal of being the first, his remix was released within the same day, if not hours, as Drake released the original. Although the song itself has been critiqued for putting the hook and same lines on loop, I can see Wiz’ point. I haven’t climbed into my lambo yet, but I can imagine how this song is a “rising from the bottom” anthem many rappers are surely blaring across the hip-hop nation. Enjoy the remix and hope for more fresh Drake. Get Your Earz Wet.
