What if I told you, Ludacris came out with a song so reminiscent of prime Luda Days that it would make you most likely soil yourself? The Eargazm presents “Ludacris – If I Ain’t Fucked Up: the revival of a true souther rap king”. All parody and satire aside, everyone’s main man Ludacris is BACK. Anticipation is growing as we await a year full of new work from the DTP captain, excitement that has only been fueled the last two weeks. As a promotion for his label’s I Don’t Give A Fuck compilation mixtape, the 2 Fast 2 Furious bookie (lol) has sparked a series of new songs. Through “IDGAF Friday’s” Luda is releasing a new song every Friday, a promotional strategy identical to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Fridays promotion which led up to the release of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
SIDE NOTE: KANYE’S NEW ALBUM TO SEE THE GENREAL PUBLIC JUNE 18TH JDSF89%^DGD%^W&WGSTS. Apologies, just seized.
The second installment of the strand chalk full of new Ludabeats comes with production from Metro. If I Ain’t Fucked Up is very reminiscent of older Ludacris with its multiple vocal layers thrown on top of a deep bass in true southern form. There certainly wasn’t any light work in the studio with this track, reminds me of sounds from Theater of the Mind. THAT SHIT RIGHT THERE? Very deece, one of Luda’s best albums in my opinion.
The A-List ATL rapper had been plenty busy since he announced the release of his eighth studio album in 2010. Although Ludaversal had slowly began production with Ludacris and The Neptunes stepping into the studio together, the release was pushed back. And again…and now there’s now clear clue as to when the album will see daylight. Do albums ever get pushed back in hip-hop? I thought this was the first time this has happened, guys…huh, weird.
Enjoy the rest of IDGAF Fridays and look forward to more new club bangers from DTP. Get Your Earz Wet!
