Work Remix 2

Hold on to your britches and try not to soil yourself-this track may cause uncontrollable flow of fluids. A$AP Ferg resurrected his hit single with an all-star cast for the newly released Work Remix featuring A$AP Rocky, French Montana, Trinidad James, and ScHoolboy Q. The song’s original version, containing only flows from Ferg himself, shoved Ferg out from behind Rocky’s shadow and as he received wide recognition in the game. Now he goes and recruits trap rappers for a remix like this? Ferg you dog, you shouldn’t have.

The hood bell driven beat is simply perfect for every performer involved. Although I’m still not quite convinced of Trinidad James’ true talent, I can tolerate his verse. And with four other MCs mercilessly going balls to the walls with their own set of murderous bars, it’ll do. French follows up Ferg, James…does decent, ScHoolboy Q schools with his set (“YAH YAH YAH”), and Rocky closes the act by being Rocky. Curtain closed. Say no more.

Ferg’s potential is undeniable. He’s more than held his own on past A$AP Mob collections and I’m a firsthand witness of his energy on the stage. Of the thick tracklist that is Rocky’s LongLiveA$AP, my personal favorite is Ghetto Symphony. While it was originally supposed to be a collabo with Rocky and the Outkast duo, that plan for whatever reason fell through leaving Rock with space to fill. He recruited Ferg (along with Gunplay) and decided him and Ferg would spit like 3stacks and Big Boi respectively.

“Since Rocky spit like Andre, I’m gonna kill em’ like Big Boi/These rappers is on my entrée, eat em’ like cookies, chips ahoy”.

Christ in heaven, talk about lyrics full of flow imitation and homage to a rap legend yet filled with outrageous originality. Work Remix exploits Ferg’s originality even further and is about to lift his status to another level. There’s a storm coming, Mr. Wayne. And his name is A$AP Ferg.

But don’t reach for that mouse young blood, there’s more gangster goodness to grasp. Ferg appeared on 106 and Park today to premiere the video for Work Remix just after 24 hours of the remix dropping. Enjoy the Ferg takeover, check out the visuals below, bump the track, and Get Your Earz Wet!

SIDE NOTE: Andrew Wiggins is coming to Lawrence, Kansas to play for the University of Kansas Men’s Basketball team. “NOW YOU’RE ALL IN BIG, BIG TROUBLE!!!”
