The absolutely MAN-TASTIC beard of frontman and guitarist David Lamb grabbed my attention, and the dark, bluesy-folk (and thus, man-tastic) sound of Brown Bird‘s Seven Hells kept it. One listen to the band’s first single off of their upcoming April-release album: Fits of Reason, and I was hooked. Seven Hells differs from Brown Bird‘s usual acoustic sound by featuring an electric guitar for the first time in the Rhode Island duo’s existence. The simple instrumentals pair perfectly with the intricate lyrics of Lamb and the back-up vocals of MorganEve Swain, the other half of the dynamic duo. Look out for Brown Bird as they tour the east coast for most of April before heading west at the end of the month and into May. Rocking an American roots folk-rock sound and one of the best damn beards I have ever seen, Brown Bird is a pleasure of sight and sound. Get Your Ears Wet!
