I would put a pretty hefty wager on the prediction that you can walk into any strip club in a couple days and hear this song echoing throughout the poles. It’s the soothing panty-dropping vocals from John Legend combined with the powerful rhymes of Rick Ross. There’s no way this doesn’t belong on a strip club playlist, making woman flock to the stage and get rained on by Washington’s. You know…?
But really, John Legend is a G.O.O.D. goddamn musician and reminds us of that with his newest release Who Do We Think We Are. The B!NK-produced track is another taste from The Legend’s upcoming album, Love In The Future, predicted to drop later this year. It will be Legend’s fourth solo studio album, a highly anticipated project we are dying to hear after another sneak peek. And damn does it taste good. Excuse, my ears are sopping.
Legend and Roc-A-Fella producer B!NK truly walked into the studio and tore everything and it’s mothers up. The “Blueprint” producer pushes the limits with the wide range of notes he covers in the instrumentals department. The terrific display of string coverage is topped off and beefed up with the addition of Legend’s voice echoing those words within violens and harps. A relentless performer behind the mic, Who Do We Think We Are shows us what exactly is so special about Mr. Legend.
It’s not every day our cochleas are blessed with such musical talent, guys. Amongst some of the insanely same-sounding trap songs with the same guy yelling the same things, there exists actual artistic hip-hop. Thank G.O.O.D.ness Legend can be so versatile to team up with whoever he wants. Like, say, hip-hop’s top boss, Ricky Rozay. Stay tuned for more new John Legend and let March Madness continue. ROCK CHALK!!! Get Your Earz Wet.
