sohn

Bloodflows by SOHN begins as a pretty standard slow burning R&B track, but very subtly SOHN adds layer after layer and before you know it the song is anything but standard R&B. It is a very sneaky┬átrack in that all of the sudden you are floating in the audio heavens wondering, “How exactly did I get here?” but quickly realizing its a pretty beautiful place and to just sit back and enjoy the ride. The song is tale of two parts. The beginning setting the scene for the soaring second half which really takes flight into a stuttering, soaring world around the 2 minute mark.

SOHN keeps a relatively mysterious persona which fits with the minimal swooning sound he produces. It seems as though he is more aimed at selling an aesthetic then selling a song, featuring primarily images of scenic backdrops with Instagram style filters. I have to admit its worked for me. I think I have listened to the track about seven times in a row without realizing it. The song is certainly an escape which can be what just the doctor prescribes for a case of the Mondays. After going at it pretty hard at SXSW, SOHN is taking a bit of a breather before kicking off a European tour. Get Your Earz Wet and check out the song below.
