Big Wave Riders hail from Helsinki, Finland, but despite the cold climate they were raised in, the band seems like they spent watching giant waves crash. Their psychedelic post-punk sound calls to mind bands like Tame Impala or The Flaming Lips. The Finnish rockers site their influences as the music that touched them most when they were teenagers. To quote the band : “Our music is not trying to fit into any certain genre. We make music without mathematics or accurate calculations. The songs are fast, slow, rhythmic and with variety”
The video for Move On, the final track from the foursome’s debut Life Less Ordinary, features the band rocking out in their old rehearsal space, apparently for the last time ever. The band really left it all on the field, jamming the airwaves with their extremely dance-able echoey music for one last huzzah.
The band is currently playing a few stops in England and I would imagine that they will have some new tunes coming out hopefully, but no word yet. Get funky with the video for Move On below. Happy Friday folks!
