I’m sure that everyone reading this is either itching to get back to a college Spring Break or already looking forward to the next one. It is a magical time of boozing, partying, and general debauchery. But amidst all the chaos that is Spring Break, University of Kansas student Brian Lockwood found a quiet morning on the beaches of Gulf Shores, AL to lay down a beautiful, stripped-down, acoustic version of Chris Brown’s Don’t Judge Me. Like any great cover, Brian completely transforms the song, taking it to a new mellowed-out place.
With seagulls and ocean breezes in the background, Brian busts out a campfire-ready jam that showcases the budding singer’s tight guitar playing and soulful vocals. Rocking what might be the greatest outfit ever, Brian sings “Please don’t judge me/And I won’t judge you/This could get ugly/Before it gets beautiful” which is some pretty good advice heading into Spring Break.
Major probs to George Mullinix, as well, who does a fantastic job shooting the video. You can check out more of George Mullinix’s work on his website.
Brian will be doing some work with Eargazm and we couldn’t be happier to have his help and to share his tunes with the world. But, enough of my blabbering, go check out the fantastic video below and enjoy a brief moment of peace before Spring Break season officially comes to a close. Get Your Earz Wet and Rock Chalk!
