Born Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, Earl Sweatshirt was destined for a life of weirdness, so one should not be surprised when the LA native gets a little strange with his music videos. Tonight, nineteen year old Earl dropped the visuals for his highly anticipated single Whoa, following up the success of Chum which he dropped last November. Produced by and featuring fellow Odd Future member Tyler The Creator, Whoa features a slowed down beat with some piano samples that work well for this lyrically driven track. Directed by Wolf Haley, the music video gives us a peak at trailer park living for Earl Sweatshirt and the rest of the Odd Future crew as they rep Golf, Wolf, and their overall unique brand of weirdness. Following Earl Sweatshirt rocking boxers and a winter coat and co-staring a middle age ballerina, this video has the unsettling ability to make you feel dirty just watching it. Whoa will be featured on Earl Sweatshirt’s forthcoming sophomore album Dorris, whose release date is yet to be determined. Aside from kicking it at the trailer park, Earl has a few upcoming shows worth noting, including Austin’s SXSW on March 13th and 14th, as well as dropping by Coachella Friday April 12th, but in the mean time you can enjoy the latest from Earl Sweatshirt right here on The Eargazm, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with no cover charge. Enjoy!
