Danish producer Sekuoia has premiered the Yoshi Sodeoka-designed visuals for his skittering single, Somewhere. If you’re not familiar with Yoshi Sodeoka, he’s a NY based multidisciplinary artist and musician from Yokohama, Japan who has been tapped by artists like Beck, Tame Impala, and Yeasayer to fuse his neo-psychedelic aesthetic with their musical style. The effect is always extremely unique, and strangely captivating. Sekuoia made the following statement in regard to the collaboration:
“I’m often told that my music is very visual and paints images in people’s heads. With this in mind, I wanted a video that really complimented my way of thinking my music- the color, the atmosphere and the aesthetic. Having watched a video by Yoshi Sodeoka for the first time, I was immediately hooked, and convinced that he was the perfect match for creating a video complimenting ‘Somewhere’, and he has without a doubt done an amazing job. The end result gives my track an even more psychedelic image, and enhances the bombastic elements in the track, giving these details and even greater effect.”
Sekuoia will be supporting MØ on her upcoming tour across Denmark before releasing his EP, Reset Heart, on March 2nd. Turn on, tune in, and enjoyThe Eargazm!
